Note: MAiD = medical assistance in dying.
↵* To achieve MAiD eligibility assessments via telemedicine, MAiD assessors and patients in British Columbia have been using the health authorities’ teleconference sites, commonly known as telehealth sites. These sites can be accessed at various locations within a health authority and comprise a television screen or computer monitor, video camera and microphone, operating over a secure network. Assessors and patients have also been using their own device and software to perform or obtain their consultation remotely.
