When auditions for symphony orchestra positions were held with the applicant musician behind a screen so that the adjudicators did not know who was auditioning, the number of female musicians who won the audition greatly increased. Perhaps removing identifying information from the nomination information given to the people who are selecting the recipient of the award might yield the same result.
